Why "standard" and "normal?" Those words mean the same thing.
They had to chose some way to differentiate between the two types of changes. Probably could have used other words as well. But there is now telling why exactly these two terms have been chose, altough there may be may ways to interpret them. That's why it is best to concentrate on their definition instead of the meaning of the words.

@@valueinsights "You as a customer" Why am I a customer? Is ITIL about how to be a customer? You can describe customer behavior without this. The only "you" in these videos should be me, the person learning ITIL.
@@shuffinginoblivion You are always both a customer and service provider. ITIL is not directly about either, but it is about how value should be co-created between customer and service provider.

Hi Alex, I had to write the exam again as my original certificate had expired. I went through all 29 of your training videos as well as the 5 mock exam videos. I wrote the Exam yesterday (22 June 2024) and passed with 90%. Your course material is very well structured and I highly recommend it to anybody that plans to write the ITIL V4 Foundation Exam. As you said in your video, knowledge of ITIL practices is very important. 7 questions from "purpose and key terms of 15 ITIL Practices" as well as 17 questions from "Understand 7 ITIL practices." That's 24 of 40 points from ITIL Practices!! Vielen Dank für Ihre Beiträge und Erkenntnisse. Grüße aus Südafrika.

Hello @jeevmlokii4937 thank you for your question! Here is an explanation regarding the first question in video 2: This question pertains to the purpose of the daily Scrum. According to the Scrum Guide, the daily Scrum serves to "inspect progress towards the Sprint Goal and adapt the Sprint Backlog as necessary, adjusting the upcoming planned work". In other words, it is a time for the developers to come together and discuss their progress, identify any obstacles, and adjust their plans for the day in order to achieve or get closer to the Sprint goal. While it is important to note that the daily Scrum does involve providing updates on individual tasks, its main focus is not simply to give a status update. Instead, it is a collaborative effort to assess where we currently stand, determine where we want to be, and make any necessary adjustments to our work in order to reach our goal. Therefore, the primary purpose of the daily Scrum is to facilitate progress towards the Sprint goal, rather than just sharing individual updates. I hope this explanation clarifies the purpose of the daily Scrum for you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask!

I completed my exam today and i passed with 98%. Honestly if it wasn't for binge watching this series i wouldn't have made it. I did ITIL training 3 weeks back but honestly got out of the course rather confused. Watching this series twice overall and more on practices solidified my knowledge and made me quite confident. I've enjoyed the sequence of videos so far, but this one needs to be re-done. It is not precise enough and the example used is poorly explained. It is a shame because the Service Value Chain is really the key to ITIL4. @1:06 you state the following.... Incident Management is a practice. It will take different value chain activities throughout the course of incident resolution into account. It always starts with Engage because usually a person calls the service desk or sends a ticket or starts a chat saying "I have an issue here and I need a resolution here because my laptop is not working". So the first thing is Engage and there might be a lot of service and support activities as well. Service agent trying to find out what the issue is, maybe communicating with a second level support, maybe communicating with an external vendor, and maybe they need to buy some new stuff to solve that issue. Lets say the harddrive is broken and they need to buy a new harddrive, so they would go into obtain and build activities and then go back to deliver and support by building in that new harddrive. And then they go back to engage again just to talk to the customer and ask them if everything is fine now. So we could say now that the practices, the processes, the value streams (however we are gunna call them) they are actually a journey through the service value chain. Firstly, in the videos to date, you have not introduced the concept of "practice". You dump that term on us without a definition. Secondly, your example about Incident Management you do not help the listener by saying something like "this practice is made up of a chain of activities such as ContactUser" and optionally "BuyHardware". Thirdly you use "Engage" as an activity, whereas it is actually a classification component of the Service Value Chain. The activity should be something like "ContactUser" (which is part of the Engage component activities). And fourthly and finally, the last sentence is extremely poor. Processes (ITIL3 Term) and Practices might be synonyms, but value streams has a meaning. It is one of the four dimensions of the SVS. It is definitely not a journey through the service value chain. IncidentManagement is the overarching value stream i.e. I include support levels for a price in our contract. The co-creation of value is that the customer gets the support level they need and we get money for the support activities. The Incident Management Process/Practice encompasses all activities that might be required for managing incidents. A "Journey though the service value chain" is the path that a specific incident took e.g. "Turn the printer on and off again. Did it work? Good have a nice day" or "Printer is broken, please fill out form requesting new printer, printer is delivered, remotely installed, does it work, ok, close incident". It would nice if you improved this video, as it is really is key to understanding many concepts in ITIL.

Hi The answer to this questions is not supposed to be an activity. It is about how the the practice supports a certain value chain activity. So basically it asks, what configuration management can do to support deliving and supporting our services. And this can be done best by providing relevant information about our CIs.
